RestrainedLife with 1.19.1

Let's just be clear right away, 1.19.1 does not work with RL 1.19.0. I will try to adapt RL to 1.19.1 as it's now standard (and sorry if you don't like Windlight, it seems to be standard now as well, thanks LL), but it may take time, please be patient and don't ask me questions about when I'll release it, it will be done when it's done. LL has the habit of releasing things and making the old viewers obsolete or at least unavailable without prior warning.

Update :

It is done, you can find the latest RestrainedLife viewer 1.10.5 for Windows here (this is the 3rd attempt, this time you'll get a lot more files that you need to copy as well) :

http://rapidshare.com/files/105686227/RestrainedLife.zip

I have not asked Orchid from eRestraint to put it on her site yet, as it's still experimental and I have spotted two bugs already. I'll work on it later, since I want to get back to work on the Banishment Program. Have fun with this update already !

Marine, thanks for keeping us all up to date. We very much appreciate your effort in getting a new RLV out as soon as you do and have done in the past. Speaking for myself, you do an amazing job for a lot of people that really enjoy SL all the more for it too.....

and i know you are probably still trying to finish up your bane suit as well.....

i imagine between the two, both projects have been taking up alot of your time lately....

keep up the GREAT work Marine. i for one, enjoy SL so much more because of what you give us.

Just want to echo Jesse's sentiments - we appreciate so much all your hard work!

Someone commented to me that I should try the new SL viewer, and just not run the RLV for a few days... That was an "OMG! No way!" moment :-) The SL experience is SO much better with the RLV!

So yes, I know you are SUPER busy, but was wondering about the Force Wear from a special inventory folder project...Still planned for a future release at some point? Possibly after the Bane project?

In the meantime *shameless promotion*, the Cool Viewer is ready with RL 1.10.4...

Boy

Miss Marine - just want to thank You for the hard work and commitment You put into this.

Sure i miss my viewer - but take Your time. i've been in Your shoes and its hard to have such a burden (and can be a thankless job).

What You do changes my life so i can wait for it (like anything good.

(hands up how many slaves out there hate that little blue release key *grins*) Just another discipline to master - not hitting it!

Thank you all for your very kind support :) To answer your questions, yes force wear is still planned, yes the Banesuit is finished, I'm working on the Banishment Program group (almost finished the processing lab), and the Release Keys button disappears when at least one item is locked (this is to stay consistent with the Cool Viewer).

We've all been suffering the Linden's "required new releases" in silence recently...
Of course I do understand keeping up with them is impossible like this, but there is light at the end of the tunnel, isn't it? (let's hope it's not the train...)
Anyway I guess I have to wait for Mo for the Mac version anyway...

I hope you find time to do the more fun things soon, like the Banishment Project... OMG some ppl are almost threathening me to let me try them your test helmet! LOL
No I won't... but if you need some help and/or candidates for the project.. ;-)

Marine, i hte to be the harbinger of bad news...and i'm hoping it's more to do with SL itself......but i've installed SL 1.19.1, dl'd RL 1.10.5, run RestrainedLife.exe...and it halts in the load process just before it detects hardware....process is using 50% SPU each and evertime...and just under 16MB memory. it's doing this consistently each tie i try and load it. the plain SL viewer seems to work OK, tho once logged it, i'm still suffereing the problems attributed to the main SL connection problems right now.

my machine is a windows machine running XP SP2....if that helps at all.

Jesse : have you copied the 4 folders contained inside the zip file ? Without them it seems the exe is too incompatible with the rest of the files inside the SL folder.

Temporarly also available to download from my site:
http://rpgland.extra.hu/download.php?view.8
The earlier stable one of course still there, as soon as the new stable is out I will remove this one.

The zip file i downloaded off the Updated link on your most recent entry only contains the exe file not four folders...

Yes Anonymous I came by the same problem and sadly, like last time froze on start up. We'll just have to be patient.

I'm sorry, but I keep on crashing with this one...

Thank you very much for the fixed update Marine! :)

In case if you weren't aware already:
It looks like there might be some information about the known issue you have listed in the readme here:
https://jira.secondlife.com/browse/VWR-4529

Marine, I need to talk to you. You seem unreachable. Will send you a notecard later.

Yes I am crashing too. I can only stay online for maybe a minute and then it crashes. i don't know why.
even my normal viewer is crashing now at startup

Same thing happens with me. 5 minutes online then crashs, and seems when download much textures.
Marine we knows how you are busy, and anyone here will hurry you.
I think that has something diferent in this WindLight and i think that can be some with video card. Because works with someones and not with others.

There were no folders in the zip file, just the executable and readme

Well, i belive that i found a light in end tunnel (not, is not a train, Dani).

When i use the laested version of WL (1.19.1.4) SL crashs in some minutes. but then i installed the old 1.19.1.0 and copy your files, and till now works very well. (i tested for only 20 minutes, because needed go to work). But this night i will use in full time for confirm.

The only strange thing is that now not show MAP when you try chat when gagged, but a landmark....?

Thank you Miss Marine for all your hard work here, and for trying to keep up with SL viewer updates.

I also crash, like some users reported here, after a few minutes when using your viewer (the .exe with the 4 folders).

The CPU usage is also very high, I'm flirting with the 80% usage for 15mo memory usage, while the normal SL viewer is closer to 30% / 100Mo.

Hope you'll get the chance to fix these issues soon, keep up the good work :)

Thanks again!

Hi all, I can't answer to every comment (sorry, lacking time badly here), but here are the news :
- updated the viewer again, 3rd attempt, with more files
- discussed with Soft (Linden) about the source code, and we identified several reasons for the crashes
- Soft has uploaded a new version of the source code for 1.19.1 on which I will compile as soon as I can, and test, and hopefully release if it works well. Wish me luck.

In the meantime, the Banishment Program is almost done, I may open soon, perhaps in less than a week ^_^

Forgot to add : If you want you may try Boy Lane's windows version of Henri's Cool Viewer, which implements the RL features. You have to activate them though, they're off by default (read the manual).

Where can I find the source code for RestrainedLife? Can't seem to find the required open source licenced version.
